Is the City a good self drive choice?

The Honda City is the default choice for a comfortable sedan in Pune. A smooth petrol engine, a roomy rear seat and a big boot make it ideal for outstation trips and airport runs with luggage.

It is a 5-seater sedan with manual transmission and a petrol engine. Daily rentals include 350 km, which covers a Lonavala return trip (130 km) with room to spare.

It works especially well for outstation trips, airport transfers, business travel, family travel. If your plans are mostly short city runs, the daily rate matters more than the size; if you are carrying five or more people and luggage, move up to a larger SUV or MUV.

What the City costs in Pune

Honda City self drive rental starts at ₹3,800 per day with 350 km included. Fuel, tolls and parking are not included, and the refundable security deposit is ₹10,000.

Extra kilometres beyond the daily limit are billed at ₹8 per km. If you return late, the extra-hour charge is ₹300. Weekly and monthly bookings are cheaper per day and are quoted with their own kilometre allowance.

For a two-day booking, the included distance is 700 km. That is enough for Lonavala and back on one day, plus a second day of local driving, without touching the extra-km rate.

If you need a car for outstation trips, airport transfers, business travel, family travel, the City is a sensible fit. Book early for weekends and festival dates, when popular models are usually the first to go.

Best road trips from Pune in the City

The "days needed" column is the minimum rental length to keep the return trip inside the included kilometres, not a recommendation for how long the trip should take. A Lonavala day trip fits inside one day on this car; Goa does not.

For trips that exceed the daily limit, either book an extra day or budget for extra kilometres at ₹8 per km. Tolls, parking and any interstate permit are separate.

Before you book the City

• You need a valid LMV licence at least one year old, a government photo ID and you must be 21 or older.
• The booking must be in the name of the person who will drive. Another driver cannot collect the car.
• Inspect the car and note the fuel level and odometer reading at handover.
• Return the car with the same fuel level. Fuel, tolls and parking are payable by you.
• The security deposit is refunded after the car is checked in, subject to fastag and traffic violation checks.
